Reviews of our most recent Beethoven recording:

Experience has demonstrated to me that any new recording from the Gaudier Ensemble is cause for rejoicing.
MusicWeb International

Comprising several of the founding members of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the outstanding pianist Susan Tomes, the Gaudier has become one of the world’s elite chamber ensembles. Here, they collect three of Beethoven’s smaller-scale works with wind instruments: the E flat Quintet (Op 16), for piano, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn, which the youngish composer modelled on Mozart; the B flat Trio (Op 11), for clarinet, cello and piano; and a rarity, the D major Serenade, for flute, violin and viola. My only cavil is that the superb Quintet is sandwiched between the relatively light Trio and the slight Serenade. But the performances are of superlative quality: sophisticated “conversations” between musicians of rare insight in works deserving wider circulation.
